Question: I want to purchase an item on your website, how does it work and what are my first steps?

Answer:  You will simply select the item you wish to purchase by placing it in the shopping cart.  Then you will need to create an account using your basic information.  You will then proceed to our secure and encrypted checkout page.  You may use any major credit card.  This is also the page to apply gift certificates.  Once the payment is processed an email notification will be sent to the Web team and the purchaser.  We will then remove the item you chose from available inventory and await pickup, or prepare it for shipment.

Question: Your site has so many items, how do I find something I am specifically looking for? 

Answer: If you happen to know the manufacturer's part number or unique 12 digit UPC code, you can place it in the search box at the top of the home page.  If the item is available it will take you to it.  You can also use the search criteria located under any of the category tabs.  Choose the category that most likely fits your search criteria and then narrow it down using the options located in the left hand column. 

Question: I found a firearm I wish to purchase on your site.  I live near your store.  What is the best way to make sure I don't miss out on purchasing it?

Answer: Simply place the firearm in your shopping cart.  Proceed to checkout and enter your basic information.  Select in store pickup. You will now enter the secure payment page and complete your purchase.  For items that ship from the warehouse, please allow 4-7 business days for it's arrival.  We will contact you by email when it is ready for pickup.  

Question: I found a firearm I wish to purchase on your site.  I do not live near your stores and will need it shipped to my FFL dealer.  What is the best way to make sure I don't miss out on purchasing it?

Answer:  Simply place the firearm in your shopping cart.  Proceed to checkout and enter your basic information to create an account.  After you have selected the firearm you wish to purchase and created your account you will locate a dealer near you by using our FFL finder.  By choosing this you can proceed to the secure checkout page and complete your purchase.  This locks the firearm to your name and prevents its purchase by others.   We will need a copy of your dealers Federal Firearms License before we can ship it, at time's we may need your assistance.  Some dealers will not give out their license information until they have spoken with the customer.  it is especially important to contact your local dealer if you live in a highly regulated state like California or New York.

Question: Can I purchase an item from you over the phone?

Answer: Yes you can, please have the item number available so we may better serve you.  

Question: The item I want to purchase is listed at your warehouse.  Are there any additional fees for selecting items from the warehouse?

Answer: No, the warehouse will send the items you select directly to you.  Or in the case of most firearms it will ship to our store first and then to your selected dealer.  If you live near our store and select (in store pickup) you will not pay any shipping charges.  There are never shipping charges for customers who choose to pick up their items at our store.  When in doubt please contact us.

Question: Where is your warehouse?  Is it located at your store?

Answer: The warehouse is not near our retail location and store employees do not have physical access to it.  It is not in the state of South Dakota and for security reasons it's exact location will not be disclosed.  For questions about the warehouse or products it contains please contact us via email at info@garysgunshop.com

The Gunshop:

Question: Do you offer any type of warranty on used firearms purchased from you?

Answer: Yes we do.  All used guns purchased from us carry a 30 day warranty.  We will repair the item free of charge in the unlikely event there is an issue.  

Question: I purchased a new gun from you and It isn't working properly.  How do I get it fixed?

Answer: All new firearms we carry have some level of warranty provided by the manufacturer.  Since most gun companies have done away with (warranty repair stations) firearms must be shipped back for repair.  Most major gun companies have a dedicated service department to assist you in returning your item for warranty repair.  We can assist you in this process.

Question:  Do you have a gunsmithing department?  

Answer: Yes we have a dedicated full time Gunsmith.  We can perform repair's to most rifles, handguns, and shotguns.  We also perform some light machine work such as barrel threading and part fabrication.  We do not reblue or restore firearms.

Question: I purchased an item and wish to return it.  What is your policy?

Answer: Any return must be accompanied with a RECEIPT no more then 30 days from the date of purchase.  It must also be in the original undamaged packaging.   All firearm sales are FINAL.  For safety reasons our insurance company prohibits any returns on ammunition, powder, and primers.

Question: How long are gift certificates valid for?

Answer: All gift certificates are valid for 365 days from the date of purchase.  You may also use your valid gift certificate on this website.

Question: I need to have my firearm's appraised for a legal matter.  Do you provide this service?

Answer: We do not provide this type of service.

Question:  I wish to sell/trade my firearm and want to know what it is worth.  How do I start this process?

Answer: The only way we can give you a reliable offer is by inspecting the item first hand.  There are many factors that determine a guns value.  If you cannot bring the item to the store we may be able to provide a value (range) by using photos taken by you and emailed to us.  Please email us at info@garysgunshop.com for details.

Question: I wish to purchase a firearm from another source and need a dealer to receive it.  Do you provide transfer services?

Answer: Yes we do.  Our current fee is $40 per firearm.  Please contact the store you wish to pick the item up at for proper federal documentation.  Ensure the seller places your contact information inside the package.  Please note that on the day your item arrives it can take 2-6 hours for it to be properly processed into the system.  If your South Dakota photo ID has a PMB address you cannot purchase a firearm by Federal law.

The Range:

Our indoor range is rated for handguns only.  High Power rifles are not allowed.  We also allow rimfire rifles and carbine rifles using standard pistol cartridges.  We have 12 lanes, divided into two halves, available to the general public on a first come first serve basis.  We do offer large groups the option of renting half the range during specific time periods.  We currently offer yearly memberships to families and individuals. Rates are available on this site under the Range tab.  Email info@garysgunshop.com for more information.  

Question: How old do you have to be to use your range?

Answer: Our insurance provider prohibits users under the age of 18.  However children between the ages of 12 and 17 may shoot a rimfire rifle/pistol carbine if they can produce a valid Hunter's Safety Card.  They must also have a legal guardian present on the range.  

Question: What do I need to bring with me to use the range?

Answer:  A valid state or gov't issued photo ID is required to get started.  We have everything you need to have a great time!
