535218226Since its debut in 1936, the Model 70 has been the gold standard for bolt-action rifles. It boasts a well-known 3-position safety that can be easily operated with the thumb of the shooting hand, effectively disengaging the firing pin from the sear. The receiver, made from forged steel, originates from a solid block, featuring a flat bottom profile that increases the surface area for bedding. It is secured with a two-part epoxy in two critical areas, front and rear, to minimize any movement within the stock during firing. The rifle's classic Controlled Round Feed (CRF) bolt design includes a substantial claw extractor that securely grips about a quarter of the cartridge base, ensuring complete control from the moment the cartridge leaves the magazine until it is fully ejected. This design also allows for the extraction of an unfired cartridge, even if it hasn't been fully chambered. The M.O.A. Trigger System is renowned as the most precise three-lever trigger system in existence, enhancing fit, finish, and accuracy while maintaining the classic Pre-'64 controlled round feeding. A blade-type ejector provides excellent control during case ejection. The free-floating barrel is button rifled, guaranteeing superior accuracy and durability. The Super Grade model is distinguished by its AAA Maple stock and a high-polished metal finish.
